You have spent money getting your move underway and then suddenly the UK lockdown has caused havoc with your plans. You are advised that you can no longer get Local Authority Searches or at best they are delayed by several weeks.
We have sorted this for you:-
Please call 0345 463 7664 we have a local authority search solution.
The issue isn’t the property search, it’s moving house when a lockdown exists.
What is the concern?
You may catch the virus if you are in touch with the owner of the property. When you move house it is based on vacant possession and meeting the owner of the property is highly unlikely and can be avoided.
So what else is in the way, why not get your vacant property deep cleaned between exchange of contracts and completion.
That way when you move in the only thing left todo is to wipe clean the front door handle.
Moving house isn’t really a problem and the UK Government has realised that. They have fallen in to the trap of applying the same message to everyone but of course as we all know moving house is a costly business and working with the current issue opens up an opportunity. Getting the jobs done on your new house when self isolating.
Conveyancing Transactions Can Proceed
Conveyancers have been told that if a property is vacant the Buyer can proceed. It just needs common sense applied by all parties.
Your Conveyancer works at arms length and probably at home. The only party that has a problem is the Surveyor.
We are focusing on the property deals, where a Survey has been carried out and can be completed even though we are in lockdown.
It does seem likely that the UK lockdown could last until May 2020.
